How to Improve Wireless Camera Performance

  • Please don't install the camera behind a window or glass. Otherwise, the camera will not be able to detect motions.
  • Please note that when in live view, the camera will not detect motions (record videos and send notifications).
  • Please note that when you install the camera about 7 feet high and 10°~15° downwards, the motion detector of the camera will perform best. You can refer to the picture.

    • Please note that the motion detector performs best for movements 5 feet to 20 feet (1.5 meters to 6 meters) from the camera. See in the picture.
    • The motion sensor is more sensitive to movements across the camera's field of view than movements toward or away from the camera. For the best performance, please make sure that the typical movements that you would like to monitor cross the camera's field of view. You can refer to the  picture.

      Detection distance

      High: 8-10 m

      Medium: 6-8 m

      Low: 4-6 m

      • The detection distance refers to the detection distance of lateral movement. Due to the working characteristics of PIR, the detection of longitudinal movement is not so sensitive. It is necessary to avoid longitudinal movement during installation.
      • Usually the battery-powered camera is in a dormant state. When the camera is triggered, it takes a little time for the camera to wake up and start recording video, which means the recording video is delayed. Therefore, you might miss the first 1 or 2 seconds of motion incident in recording clip. The network status at that time will also affect the speed at which the camera wakes up and records video.
      • All battery-powered camera behaves in the same manner. It doesn't work all the time and wake up in the event of motion, to save more battery power.
